EIGHT WEEKS AT GUAM (Introduction)

Btn3 Main Pg.
Btn2
We spent several weeks at Guam after leaving Yap in order to prepare
for the trip to the Reef Islands where our new location would be.
Much time was spent making repairs and improving the station.
(Unfortunately I have misplaced the pictures taken of our station
equipment. I do remember that we were set up on an old airfield.)

While at Guam, I was able to do a little sightseeing. Also the mail delivery was much better and of course, telephone calls could be made to loved ones back home.

Guam is an interesting island. Of course, the US Military has many facilities here including the Navy's docks, repair shops and other military facilities in the central and southern part of the island. The big Andersen Air Force Base is in the north of the island.

There are not many pictures here and I apologize because I no longer can positively identify some of the pictures but they are included anyway.
