Leaving Swallow Island, we sailed for Fiji. The sea was fairly rough and the writer was seasick most of the time until we arrived at Nandi, Fiji, on June 9th, 1966. While on Fiji, some financial transactions were done for our station. On June 11th, the writer flew to Oahu. When arriving in the morning at Oahu, it was still June 11th because of having crossed the International Dateline. Sometime in the previous months, our headquarters had moved from Guam to Oahu at Schofield Barracks. It was here that the writer was stationed until the flight to the States occured for final discharge. (Go to Next Page) |
